Your mileage may vary on this, but each of the stories seemed to have at least one really solid good idea (a superhero with Alzheimer's, a superhero murder mystery, a lesbian romance, nonwhite characters, etc), but the author is not a prose stylist, and every point seemed to get hammered home twice, with more emphasis than was truly necessary. (No one is merely mistaken, and no person is merely busy. Everything is too important for that. "He's an idiot. A danger to himself and others. And he's going to get somebody killed one of these days. But I was on the job. I didn't have time to think about these things. There was a killer on the loose and I had to track him down. Him...or possibly it." That sort of style.) I found the ideas original enough and engaging enough that I kept listening. But I also got accustomed to cringeing on a semi-regular basis on my way to the endings. I admit I'm a little picky about sentences.Product details
